T5T: Fighting Game Crossovers I Want to See

Top 5 Tuesdays is an article series that focuses on my “top five” anything on a given subject of my choosing that pertains to either gaming, anime, or manga.
Fighting games are use to crossing over, I mean we mostly see it with CAPCOM (Such as Marvel vs Capcom, Tatsunoko vs Capcom, Capcom vs SNK, etc.), but other series have begin to also do it as well (Such as Mortal Kombat vs DC Universe).  We have even seen other fighting games include other fighters from their series inside of their official releases, such as the inclusion of Virtua Fighter characters inside of Dead or Alive 5.
This article is going to talk about the top 5 fighting game crossovers that I want to see take place (Including the Top 5 fighters from each side I would want to make it in).  Some of these may never get made but it does not hurt to dream, right?

Top 5 Fighting Game Crossovers I Want to See
There is no fighting game fan I know of that does not get incredibly anxious when we see a new fighting game crossover announced.  Dream matches where we get to fight with characters we love together with or against each other.  Because of licensing issues and the probability that it will not sell very well, we do not see very many crossovers (Except by CAPCOM) and I wish that it was something that was pursued more.  Below you are going to find my personal list of games I wish clashed together to create an incredible fighter I have only dreamed of.  I will also give you my top 5 list of characters I would want to make it into the game for each side on every crossover pairing.
  #5 – Marvel vs DC

Marvel and DC are the two biggest comic book publishers on the planet, I do not think that anyone else has such a slew of iconic characters as these two companies do.  It would be very interesting to be able to see them clash with each other and determine who would win.  I faintly remember a comic where they had crossovers and we actually got to see who would win in some fights (Superboy vs Spider-Man, Superman vs The Hulk, etc.), but it would be brilliant to actually be able to fight those out.
Marvel – Dormammu, Psylocke, Jubilee, The Juggernaut, and Cloak & Dagger.
DC –  Darkseid, Super Girl, Power Girl, Live Wire, and Vandal Savage.
#4 – Killer Instinct vs Mortal Kombat

Mortal Kombat is known to be a bloody fighter, so much so that it actually sparked the formation of the ESRB (Well done!).  Killer Instinct started off as a fighter that was mixed with a bunch of elements from other fighters (Street Fighter, Mortal Kombat, etc) and also included some of the themes from around that time (Terminator, Predator, etc.).  These two games have released during the last few years and provided us with an updated look of what is to be, they even have games currently on the way (Killer Instinct: Season Two and Mortal Kombat X).  Both of these games have gotten pretty crazy with their killing move finishers, so it would be nice to see them used on each other.  Though, if this game was made I would probably like it to be done by Double Helix (Tough luck on that now though, thanks Amazon).
Killer Instinct – Jago, Sadira, TJ Combo, Tusk, and B. Orchid.
Mortal Kombat – Scorpion, D’Vorah, Ermac, Frost, and Noob Saibot.
#3 – Super Smash Bros. vs Playstation All-Stars

Super Smash Bros. brought about all of Nintendo’s classic characters into a game that brought about a revolution in what we may consider to be fighting games.  Super Smash Bros. Melee is currently the most popular game in the series (Still played today competitively), and we have an up-and-coming title “Super Smash Bros. for Wii U“.  Playstation All-Stars Battle Royale was an attempt to do the same thing as Super Smash Bros., but it was not very successful (Because it was not very good in my opinion).  I think if Nintendo were to make this game, it would be pretty awesome.
Super Smash Bros. – Roy, Ike, Lucina, Sami, and Marina Liteyears.
Playstation All-Stars – Kat, Raiden, Dante, Dollface, and Lili Rochefort.
#2 – Shonen Jump vs Dengeki Bunko

Both of these series have currently come out with games (J-Stars Victory VS and Dengeki Bunko Fighting Climax), and they have both featured an overwhelming amount of hype simply because of the characters that were included.  I would love to see this in action, the amount of replay value from seeing your favorite anime characters clash would be amazing, especially since you will have more variety in a crossover environment.
Shonen Jump – Dio Brando, Jotaro Kujo, Naruto Uzumaki, Trunks, Moritaka Mashiro.
Dengeki Bunko – Shizuo Heiwajima, Celty Sturluson, Taiga Aisaka, Tatsuya Shiba, and Tomoka Minato.
#1 – Soft-Circle Frenchbread vs Arc System Works

Can you just imagine the type of chaos that these two could put together?  Imagine the fights if you just took their fighting game franchises and mixed them together!  Guilty Gear and BlazBlue, Melty Blood and Under Night in-Birth… you would get absolute insanity!  Being able to play with them combined together would be something beyond anything else, it is my most wished for fighting game crossover…but sadly I do not see this happening at all, but the possibility is always there!

Soft-Circle Frenchbread – Aoko, Warcueid, Yuzuriha, Waldstein, and Gordeau.

Arc System Works – Makoto Nanaya, A.B.A., Sol Badguy, Dizzy, Potemkin.

  1. So, you're saying that your #1 crossover game wish is technically Type-Moon VS Soft Circle French-Bread VS Arc System Works, right? (Melty Blood belongs to the Tsukihime storyline.)
