AETHER! Ike Returns for Smash Bros. on Wii-U and 3DS!

The return of Ike, the swordsman whom everyone agreed had taken Roy’s spot when Super Smash Bros. Brawl had launched is quite unexpected, but quite welcomed!  I was sure that he was going to be replaced just like Roy was, and that more than likely it was going to be by Chrom of the new Fire Emblem: Awakening.  I knew that Marth was going to make it back as he is insanely popular and appeared as Downloadable Content within the new Fire Emblem while being highly sought after by players due to his popularity, but Ike?  This comes as a happy surprise!  A character I would actually main appears!
Ike was my main character in Super Smash Bros. Brawl and he has grown on me, so I am happy to see him return.  Hit the jump to see screenshots from both Wii-U and 3DS!

  Couple of my Thoughts
Why Ike?  That is simple at this point and time.  You see, where as Roy had a moveset that was more-or-less Marth’s with different attributes, Ike has a completely different moveset altogether.  This seems like it is going to be the last Smash Bros. for sometime and is also the last hope of the Wii-U to pull in people to buy the console, so Nintendo are trying to appeal to as many of its fans as possible (Not to mention they get to add another swordsman with a unique take on Marth).
While I am happy to see Ike return, I am not happy to see that they made him…BIGGER.  What I mean by “bigger” is that this version of Ike is not as lean as his counterpart that was seen in Super Smash Bros. Brawl.  Matter of fact, if you were to compare the two pictures you would see that his arms look a lot more muscular in his Wii-U and 3DS portrait than in his Brawl portrait.  While it is true that it makes more sense for him to be built to be able to wield his blade with that much power, it personally detracts a bit from what made me really enjoy him, well, that and his clothes being even more tan (Definitely going to use an alternative color).
You see, the type of character I like is one who is relatively lean but possesses an amount of power deceptive to their appearance.  Examples of such characters would be Makoto Nanaya from BlazBlue and Shizuo in Dengeki Bunko Fighting Climax.  By making him this bulky in appearance (Specifically in his arms) it takes this illusion away and gives reason to him having power, thus killing one of the allures about him I like so much.
Regardless of these small things, I will be maining Ike in Super Smash Bros. for Wii-U and 3DS if someone more interesting does not come along and catches my fancy (Roy, for instance).  Thank you for reading my thoughts, I hope you enjoy the Wii-U and 3DS screenshots that I have for you below!
