Anime has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember, and while I am also an avid fan of manga (Having collected several series and others in the works of being completed), I was first lead into the "Otaku Culture" by way of Japanese animation.  Having been enveloped by an overwhelming passion for anime, it does not come as a surprise that the stories and characters within them have made massive impacts on my life.  In fact, I believe I owe my current way of thinking and the way I look on life to previously watched anime and the ideals that have embodied them.

This article is going to spill my guts on how I believe that my life has been influenced, for better and for worse, by my love of Japanese animation.  I will hold nothing back and will try to elaborate as much as I can, you can catch the full, uncensored truth after the jump.

The Destiny Beta has come and gone, and in its wake it has left millions of more people hungry for when the full game debuts on September 9th (It already left millions wanting more after the Destiny Alpha which was exclusive for Playstation 4).  While not owning a Playstation 4 to be able to play the Alpha, I do have an Xbox One and managed to be able to play the beta from the start date of our respective period (During day 6 they opening up beta access to the public across all 4 systems: Xbox 360, Playstation 3, Xbox One, and Playstation 4).

Inside I will give a basic rundown of what you can expect of Destiny, and while I could be massively elaborate, I will try to condense it into a compressed review that will give everyone a good glimpse of what I felt from playing 5 days of this beta (July 23rd to July 27th).  Hit the jump to warp to the review.

Marie, the Antisocial Poet of the Hollow Forest joins the roster of fighters in Persona 4 Ultimax as DLC.  She's a deadly combatant with skills that control and immobilize opponents, and who knows what kind of game-changing items she can pull out of her purse. Her Persona Kaguya complements her abilities with ranged and stun attacks.
An interesting fact is that her and Adachi will be free DLC for the first week of the game's release.  You can go ahead and hit the jump to check out a few screenshots of her in action.

Top 5 Tuesdays is an article series that focuses on my "top five" anything on a given subject of my choosing that pertains to either gaming, anime, or manga.

2013 was one of my most active years watching anime thus far since I finally found the time and opportunity to  be able to do so.  All-in-all it was a pretty eventful year filled with new anime that peeked my interest while delivering exceptional experiences for all anime lovers.

Out of all those series which I had grown to adore, I had a select few favorite openings that I would watch for every single episode of said anime without ever feeling the desire of skipping it.  Hit the jump to check out my favorite Anime Openings from 2013!

This series began like many others, sitting in the break room with my co-worker Bianca and flipping through the Crunchyroll application on her tablet while trying to figure out which series we should watch next.  Out of all the anime available, we decided on Black Bullet (Well, she had seen the first episode and thought I would enjoy it.  B-Bot seems to know my tastes pretty well so I tried it out).  I was very impressed with the first episode and I wanted it to stay on par, whether it could or not was a different story.

Finishing off Black Bullet, I have my fair share to say about this anime, some good and some bad.  Overall, you can go ahead and hit the jump to find out what this anime is about and if it is worth your time to watch it from my prespective.

Sword Art Online II is well underway, and we are already loving the feeling of the world in the massive multiplayer shooter, "Gun Gale Online".  In this episode, we got to see Kirito as his avatar inside of the game and it was what we all expected from the opening and endings, he's a female.  However, with him being a girl we got to see a number of things from a female's perspective, and we also got to see a few things particularly familiar when dealing with an MMO.

I normally do not feel the need to write about these sort of things no matter how good an episode was, but I feel like this particular one definitely deserves it, so go ahead and hit the jump!  (And yes, Kirito's new "Photon Sword" (Kagemitsu G4) does look like Mace Windu's Lightsaber in Star Wars).

The Destiny Beta is finally upon us and I could not be more excited as an Xbox One owner!  Originally I did not think that Destiny was going to be too good, I had also lost any interest I might have had from how mundane many of the game play videos were, and the fact that one person over at Kotaku even wrote an article after he got to try out the game called "I Played 45 Minutes of Destiny, and it was Kind of Boring".  However, I find that the game is incredibly addictive and I have been having a blast playing it, but back to the point.

This is going to be the second contest held here at RoKtheReaper.com and I am giving away two (2) Destiny Beta Codes for the Microsoft Xbox One as prizes.  The full details will be found after the jump on how you can enter the contest and when to check back for the winner.

Everyone already knew from the start that we were going to be seeing more Fire Emblem characters, especially since Fire Emblem: Awakening had made such a big splash for the Nintendo 3DS (We have Marth and Ike representing already, but we normally see close to four characters per popular franchise).  It is also no surprise that we see the sole representative of the F-Zero franchise, the veteran fighter Captain Falcon, make his return (I say sole because no one else from F-Zero has made it as a character in a Super Smash Bros. game).

Inside you are going to see screenshots, the new trailer (With my analysis of it), artwork of the new characters.  Go ahead and hit the jump to check out all the goodness that is waiting for you on the other side.

Another anime that I was suggested by my good friend Bianca was Brynhildr in the Darkness.  I was not quite sure what it was going to be about (Could not really understand with the name being how it is), but her suggestions are always on point with my what I consider my individual taste, so I gave it a shot.

I found that this series actually contains quite a lot of interesting things: Modified witches, aliens, super powers, and even an evil organization.

You will follow the life of Ryota Murakami, someone who is desperately seeking answers about the mystery that surrounds exchange student Neko Kuroha, a girl who looks strangely like his childhood friend who died

1st Episode Impressions is an article series which focuses around reviewing the debut of a new anime or season's very first episode.  The goal of these articles is to show whether-or-not an anime makes a lasting impression on me from the very beginning and is a comparative point for my final review of that anime or season.

We first saw the appearance of Sword Art Online in anime form in July 2012, taking the otaku community by storm and becoming one of the most popular series of that year.  Now here we are, two years later and ready to embark on this journey all over again.  Exciting as a second season is, will Sword Art Online II be able to live up to fans expectations?  We will see in due time.  In the mean time however, here is my impression of the first episode.

Sailor Moon is one of the first anime that a lot of people here in the United States got to see (Myself included), because of that, it is embedded within us as a nostalgic memory that lies as one of the building blocks of most otaku around my age group.  Sailor Moon is also one of the most recognized anime around and stands as the epitome of "Magical Girl" series.  Just like many others who lied in wait, we want to relive that magic...but will we be able to?

Sailor Moon is pretty much the queen of bishoujo anime and the unabashed empress of the "Magical Girl" genre.  I keenly remember my sister waking me up at 6:00 am because she wanted someone to watch Sailor Moon with her, and little by little the show grew on me.  Dragon Ball Z got a new movie with "Battle of the Gods" and my inner kid lite up again, and once Sailor Moon Crystal was announced I was at my limit.  But let me get to why you are here.

Recently the opening for this series has been revealed as well as the transformation which shows school girl Usagi turning into the "Pretty Guardian" known as Sailor Moon!  I will have both videos after the jump along with a detailed description on what I think about each of them.

Hatsune Miku, the loveable anime poster girl for the synthesizing music program known as "Vocaloid" has become an international sensation.  She returns to us again in yet another video game (As we can all recall, she was in Hatsune Miku: Project Diva and Hatsune Miku: Project Diva 2nd, along with a few others).

What we are going to be getting here in the "West" (I am unsure if they are talking about releasing the game in North America, Europe, or both) is essentially a remix edition of Hatsune Miku: Project MIRAI 2 and will be the first time that Miku will be on a Nintendo platform outside of Japan.

You can catch the full press release for Hatsune Miku: Project Mirai Remix after the jump.

Dead or Alive is a series I was introduced to during the summer before my high school debut.  I remember buying Dead or Alive 2: Hardcore for Playstation 2 for my best friend's birthday and instantly fell in love with the game, in fact it has my favorite character selection music of ANY game ever (It was even the music for my first Combo Video).  For a long time Dead or Alive was my favorite 3D Fighting Game series.

That magical spark began to fade over the years and I have even started to prefer other 3D Fighting Games such as TEKKEN, Soul Calibur, and Virtua Fighter.  With the release of Dead or Alive 5 Ultimate I figured I could reclaim my love of the series but to no avail.  This editorial is going to explain why I have fallen so out of love with this series.
