B
eing so caught up with work, maintaining this blog, and trying to save-up for next generation gaming consoles, I have lost track of reading manga...and that is a sad thing to say at the least.  While a lot of people I know read "scanlations" and digital copies, I prefer to buy and collect.  Currently I own over 150 books from a variety of series, only nine of which are fully completed.  Nothing really has prompted me to begin getting back to my hobby or to collect anymore...until now that is.

Opening an e-mail from Viz Media, I was immediately taken in by the artwork for the series; not to mention its use of the urban slang terminology for "Gangster".  Seems promising enough, but you cannot judge a book by its cover.  Or can you?  I got my hands on it to find out.

Many people know who Kayane is, as she is one of the most popular Soul Calibur players and the woman who won the Evolution 2009 Women's Invitational for Super Street Fighter  IV.  She is one of the most prominent female figures in the Fighting Game Community.  Having started playing at an early age, she has effectively helped to dissolve the myth that women are unable to compete at high-level in the FGC.

A while ago, Kayane took the time to answer some of my questions after I requested an interview from her, which I want to share with you all now.  Even though this interview is a year old (Completed January of 2013), I feel that it will still be an interesting read for anyone who wants to know a bit about this professional gamer.

With me being back active on the site and posting so many new articles (A big influx since I have now begun adding news to my line-up), I need a way for my users to be able to see all of my articles for a single month (Not to mention that it makes it easier for new people who like my writing style to glance over all my work).

The way I will be doing the archive is pretty much the same as I do my articles...sort of.  I will be separating the archive by sections, Gaming, Anime, and Manga; in it will be all things relevant to that particular section: News, Reviews, Interviews, and Editorials.   If something spans multiple categories (Such as it could be considered both anime and manga) then I will list it in the section I feel that the majority of the article is aim towards.

Something else will be "Featured Article".  I will be doing an "Article of the Month" for what I feel is the best article of that month, regardless of the section it is in, this will be first.  I will also list a Featured Article for every single section (Gaming, Anime, and Manga).  Also, no matter which section the "Article of the Month" comes from, I will make sure to choose a DIFFERENT featured article for its section so no repeats will happen.

Every article will have a smaller version of its featured image along with its title, the type of article it is (Gaming News, Anime Editorial, Manga Interview, etc), and the date that it was posted.  It will include a hyper link that goes to that article, opening in a separate window so you do not have to leave the archive.

While I feel that an archive over to the side would have been very easy to do, I feel this will give everyone access to what they want a lot quicker since you may only be looking for anime from the month of February.  Sure, you can click on the tab but you may see something in gaming that catches your eye, I think this is a fine alternative.

Look for it coming very soon.  Archives will be posted on the first day of the next month (February's archive will be posted on March 1st).  I hope you look out for it!

Not too long ago I was introduced to something that I find absolutely amazing, it is something I believe is relevant to everyone that comes to my blog and I want to share it with the masses simply by how cool I find it to be.

Have you ever wondered exactly what all manga is out there?  Have you actually wondered how many people collect it and how it would look once all pieces of a collection are assembled?  Being a manga collector myself, I never realized how many different series there were...but that is where The Collectionary comes in.

I want to give you a little peek on what The Collectionary and how it is trying to archive all known manga for avid collectors to know where to go to buy them!

Mony Oum, the creator of the renowned internet videos "Haloid: Master Chief vs Samus Aran" and "Dead Fantasy: Dead or Alive vs Final Fantasy" was set to try his hand at creating his own 3D anime series, a new endeavor he would undergo with Rooster Teeth (Where he worked on a few seasons of "Red vs Blue").  With this, "RWBY" was born.

The anticipation for RWBY was taking their fan base by storm, growing with each new release of teasers for the main four female characters in the form of "Red", "White", "Black", and "Yellow" trailers.  With the first season coming to an end, I will determine if the hype was worth the wait and if Monty could meet the high expectations that everyone had of him going into this new series.

Here is a very important announcement that is sure to shake things up quite a bit on RoKtheReaper.com; I am going to be adding news for gaming, anime, and manga to the line-up!  What do I mean by that?  Allow me to explain.

Here on RoKtheReaper.com I try my best to give you truly in-depth articles pertaining to the subjects I love the most.  However, I have found that while everyone may appreciate detailed reviews, constant news is what continues to bring people back to sites and fill their needs to stay informed with the latest information.  I want to be able to mix these in with my normally detailed and serious views to maximize viewership and to give those who await posts from me something to look forward to on a daily basis.

I know that me announcing news does bring up the concern about "Hey, if you are going to be posting news, you are going to be just like those other sites!  You are not going to be unique at all!" That is not true.  Unlike most news sites that post only news and things from other people and sources, I will still be posting my own reviews and editorial work, and I will be only posting about games, anime, and manga that I feel are relevant towards everyone's interest.  Needless to say I will not be trying to throw out anything that appears like junk, whether-or-not it is news in any of the industries that I am covering.

With that, I hope you spread the word around about RoKtheReaper.com and keep your eyes peeled about developments that are coming soon.  Please make sure that you also visit the facebook page, and make sure that you follow the twitter account as well.

Well, it came that usual time where me and my friend Rasean were looking for another anime we could watch together on Xbox Live in between our bouts of fighting game madness. After trying out several series, we decided on Outbreak Company because the first episode was pretty humorous and delightful, it was promising and made you curious as to where this plot would end up.

After finally buckling down from Xbox long enough to finish this 13 episode series, we finished it (A bit late, but better to have finished than not at all, right?) In this review for the anime of "Outbreak Company", I will be deciding on whether or not this series about a company's ambition to submit a new world to otaku culture is worth the time to watch.  Go ahead and hit the jump to catch for the full review!
